1. Technical information about this website's accessibility

The University of Turku is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Web Accessibility Directive of the European Parliament and Council. In Finland, the Web Accessibility Directive is implemented by the act on offering digital services. This accessibility statement applies to the forms.utu.fi website.

1.1 State of the accessibility of the website

The service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

1.2 Non-accessible content

1.2.1 Non compliance with the accessibility regulations

The site has issues with colour contrasts and some elements (e.g. form fields, areas that open on top of the site) are difficult to use or, in some cases, inaccessible with a keyboard. Additionally, there are inconsistent headings in some of the forms. The issues are looked at during year 2020.

1.2.2 Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Users may add file attachments to the forms they use. The accessibility of these files is solely on the responsibility of the user who attached the file. Attachments are usually not meant for public use.

2. How we tested this website

The statement was prepared on 21. September 2020. The accessibility of this service has been evaluated by IT Services at the University of Turku.

The accessibility was tested with the Axe browser plugin and by using the website with a keyboard, and assessing the site's contents in light of the requirements in the WCAG 2.1 standard.
